Alert Weekly Help Desk Notes & Support Survey!

Welcome to your weekly Help Desk Notes and Support Survey!

Look What Alert CanDo!

Welcome to Alert’s weekly feature where we discuss things Alert does that
you may not know about! Let’s PAWS and learn!

A Note About Duplicate Customers

We had a few calls to the help desk recently (no, you’re not alone!) about what to do
about duplicate customers when they come in through web requests.
Did you know that Alert has a feature to merge customers?
So rather than either deleting a duplicate customer or just having a
bunch of the same ones in your customer database, merge them!
(This applies to more  than just web requests – you can do this as a
general database cleanup tool.)
All account history is saved for both accounts, with the exception of credit cards.

First, Log in to our ClientSource website. (More about that below!)

Next, download, install, and run the report “Duplicate Customers List (Updated)”.

For each duplicate found:

Codes Setup -> Customer -> Utilities -> Merge Custs

If you already know which customers you need to merge, running the report is unnecessary.

While you’re in here, you can use the purge utility on the next tab to get rid of old accounts!

Alert ClientSource aka Knowledgebase

Do you have new staff that needs to get up to speed on how to work in Alert?
Did you have a question you want a quick answer to?
Or are afraid to ask us because you’ll think we’ll think you’re silly?
(You’re not! Promise! We’ve heard all the questions!)

Welcome to our ClientSource!
All Alert customers on a Support Agreement are entitled to access the Alert ClientSource.
You’ll find a wealth of information here, including documentation, videos, and custom
reports (like the one mentioned above.)
Check it out!

From Alert’s website, click the Login button at the top right.
If you don’t have a login already, click register to create a username and password.
The knowledgebase is laid out somewhat intuitively, and you’ll enjoy navigating
to your particular question area.

Alert is hard at work on updating our documentation – if you see
something that we’re lacking, let us know! We’ll add it to the list.

Version 19 News!

This Week’s Featured Enhancement

Confirmed/Unconfirmed Flags

Some of our clients are colorblind, so we changed the confirmed/unconfirmed
flag into little r and big R (r/R) in the Delivery/Pickup Board.
Unconfirmed reservations are indicated with a little r and confirmed reservations are
indicated with a big R and a check mark. (What’s confirmed and unconfirmed?
Stay tuned next week for an explanation!)

Did you know this list can be exported to Excel?Simply click the Export to XLS
button in the upper right-hand area!

Notice  the blue headings – that means the list can be sorted!
So you can sort the list by name, DPWC, or Area. Enjoy!

Call the Help Desk or email us at support@alertms.com to schedule your free upgrade!
